THE SINKING OF TUVALU

A time-document of a nation may be told in many ways, and the telling may serve many needs. It can explore how people understand the past, live the present, and imagine the future. It can preserve cherished stories, inform or entertain, and give shape to identity — showing who a people are. It may be all or some of these things. The Sinking of Tuvalu sets out to be exactly that: a record, a portrait, and a statement. In 240 pages, the book offers a personal, intimate portrait of a small nation’s uniqueness and fragility as it confronts change.
